Katherine Whittaker-Moore Scholarship-The Katherine Whittaker-Moore Scholasrhip was established in 2014 by her daughter Gwendolyn Downs. The scholarship was formed to celebrate Mrs. Moore’s 90th birthday. Mrs. Moore always knew the one of the keys to the door of opportunity was attached to a college degree. However, as the mother of 13 children pursuing a college degree was not possible. As a result, Mrs. Moore
made the decision to go back into the workforce working as a burn unit professional to help support her large family. She has always stressed the importance of education. Awarded to a non- traditional female student who is 24 years of age or older. Student must have at least a CPGA of 2.5 and be of a sophomore or junior class standing
